(Mississauga, ON) – On March 19th, MPP Amrit Mangat honoured recipients of the Leading Women, Building Communities award at a special ceremony. The program acknowledges and celebrates women who demonstrate exceptional leadership in working to improve the lives of others through their work, activism and volunteer activities.
This year’s recipients include:
“There are many women in this community who are everyday heroes,” said Amrit Mangat, MPP for Mississauga-Brampton South. “We should acknowledge the outstanding efforts of women who help strengthen our community and inspire young people to reach for their full potential as socially-engaged citizens.”
The government is taking action to address inequality in the areas of areas of poverty, the gender wage gap, gender diversity in leadership positions, and to ensure that no woman is forced to endure violence or harassment.
